Samsung first unveiled the Galaxy S24 Series last week and the USP of the product is its AI features , with which it is generically named as Galaxy AI. While Samsung has confirmed that it's latest-generation Galaxy S23 flagships will get Galaxy AI, it looks like the Galaxy S22 series won't. Speaking to Techradar , Samsung Customer Experience Chief Patrick Chomet confirmed that none of the 2022 flagships, including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, will get Galaxy AI features. When explaining the reason for this decision, Chomet said, "We want to make sure that our AI experiences will be supported over time by [mobile] performance, which will lead to VPM - Central Asian Processing Unit and GPU ".
So Fax Lists we're learning now; we 're going step by step. We know that Galaxy AI works well in the Galaxy S24 series, and we know it will work well in [the Galaxy S23 series]. But we don't know, what the intensity of AI usage will be for the average customer and [therefore] how that intensity will affect device resources and cloud resources,” he said. In other words, Samsung still doesn't know if the Galaxy S22 series can handle all the AI features in a stable way. The publication also asked the official why there is a disparity between the availability of AI features between the Galaxy S22 and S23 FE, despite the fact that they use the same Exynos 2200 SoC, to which the official replied: "Now we have Galaxy- We limit AI to the latest generation devices", while acknowledging the fact.
In the first half of this year, the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy z flash 5, Z Flip 5 and the Tab S9 series all feature Galaxy AI with OneGet UI 6.1 . However, phones in the Galaxy S22 line (and older) won't get them, although they are eligible for the One UI 6.1 update. It is also possible that Samsung will change their mind in the future if they successfully achieve satisfactory performance of the AI features in these phones through testing, but for now, users of the Galaxy S22 series will have to accept the fact that Galaxy AI will not be coming to their phones. At the end of the interview with us , Samsung also confirmed that they currently have no plans to bring Galaxy AI to the Galaxy M and A series of medium and budget devices.
